Now that the chaps at YouTube have enabled high(er) quality streaming, we though it was time to extend the admitedly rather cramped confines of the Projector Room and build, for your viewing pleasure, something more akin to a multiplex (in the true sense of the word) cinema.
Believe it or not, we're starting this season with a number of videos displaying reconstructions of various timber circles from around Britain (alright then, Wiltshire and Dorset) and also the hillforts of Somerset and Wiltshire. And the prehistoric trackways of Somerset. |
This video shows the locations of the major prehistoric trackways of the Somerset Levels. The Sweet Track and the Abbot's way both feature, along with a host of lesser known sites, including the intriguing Greylake platform. Watch it here or click on the image. |
A tour of the hillforts of Wiltshire - all 45 of them. That's one more than Somerset and two more than Hampshire. These are suspiciously close numbers. Hhhhmmmmm. To go on the tour click here or on the image. |
A tour of the hillforts of Somerset, from the small but perfectly formed King's Enclosures above Wells, to the (in)famous Cadbury Castle (south). To watch the video click here or on the image. |
New model of Durrington Walls, including an interpretation of the Norther timber circle. Click here or on the image to view the video. |
Reconstruction of a little known monument at Mount Pleasant, Dorset. The monument lies within one of the Wessex super henges.

First spotted from the air by Sqn Ldr Gilbert Stuart Martin Insall,
Woodhenge was then excavated by the Cunningtons in the 1926, and then
re-excavated as part of the Stonehenge Riverside Project in 2005/2006. To watch the video click here or on the image. |
Part two features sunrise/sunset animation - to watch it click here or on the image. |
The not entirely done and dusted interpretation of the stone and wood phase of the Sanctuary at Avebury. To watch the video click here or on the image. |
The same as above, but with the inclusion of a sunrise/sunset sequence. Click here or on the image to watch the video. |

Based on the truly surprising geophysics result of 1997, this is, I believe, the only graphical representation of the timber circles at Stanton Drew. Click here or on the image to watch the video.
